Role Title: Software Engineering Advisor Position Summary: The Enterprise Operations Analytics (EOA) organization supports the data and analytical needs of Cignas Enterprise Operations. As a center of excellence for best practices in Data Engineering, Web Application Development, Data Science, Advanced Analytics, and Business Intelligence, the team brings together data from customer contact centers, client benefit design/install, provider solutions / network operations, print / digital communications, and beyond in novel ways to provide actionable insights to business partners ranging from front-line Prior Authorization Representatives and Patient Care Advocates to Senior Leadership. The Software Engineering Advisor will provide expertise on complex engineering projects. They will be responsible for helping plan, develop, and deploy the future of data storage and analysis in support for Cignas Enterprise Operations. From big data to small, batch to streaming, on-prem to cloud, discover insights from millions of patient touchpoints across a wide range of operational systems. They will be responsible for partnering with key players in Customer Service, Client Service, Provider Service, and Workforce Planning, while drawing on support from Technology, Finance, Strategy, Operational Readiness, and Solutions Delivery. Job Description & Responsibilities: Responsible for design, development, deployment, and maintenance of Data Strategy/Warehousing solutions related to Cignas Enterprise Operations. Collaborate with data analysts and data scientists to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Utilize Oracle and SQL to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our data lake and data warehouse. Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Python ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance. Design and develop data pipeline architectures using Spark and related AWS Services. Develop and optimize data processing workflows using Databricks, ensuring efficient execution and resource utilization. Design and implement data quality checks and monitoring mechanisms to ensure the integrity and accuracy of our data. Work closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. Identifies opportunities and implements improvements to team platforms, processes, and tools to enhance team effectiveness. Experience Required: 8-10 years of relevant software engineering experiences Experience Desired: A proven track-record of analytical/technical/data-oriented skill development. Experience with Relational Database Development Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server, PostgreSQL or equivalent required. Experience with data modeling, ETL design, and performance tuning. Good understanding of SQL Engine and able to conduct advanced performance tuning. Experience with Git and pull request workflow. Experience with Agile Methodology (sprints, Kanban, backlogs, demos, retros) a plus. Primary Skills: Hands on experience in Databricks, Experience on Spark, and Hadoop are preferred. Hands-on experience with AWS services, particularly in data storage, processing, and analytics. Additional Skills: Able to effectively coordinate with essential IT partners to bring relevant experts to the table to deliver meaningful improvements. A proven track-record of improving processes to use time, storage, and processing strongly preferred more efficiently. Able to develop and draw upon subject matter expertise in discussions with team member and business customers. Able to effectively manage to agreed-upon deliverable dates. Detail-oriented in delivery of platform enhancements, analytic products, and stability measures. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience in Healthcare, Pharmacy, Contact Center operations a plus.
