Role Purpose:


The Centre and Academic Manager embodies our values and takes ownership of their school, creating an environment where students will have an exceptional experience. This role involves managing Student Services, Facilities, Sales, Marketing, Human Resources, Academics, and Finance and IT, ensuring high-quality service and student satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:


Student Services:


- Ensure student satisfaction and quality service.

- Address and resolve student issues promptly.

- Line manage the Student Services team and oversee the social program.

- Maintain student records and track visa applications.


Operations:


- Analyze and address negative trends in operations, quality, or finance.

- Monitor local and national competition.

- Manage home stay and residence accommodation.

- Liaise with relevant stakeholders and ensure compliance with applicable laws and standards.

- Assist with Young Learner camps and year-round closed group operations.


Academics:


- Oversee operational aspects of the academic department.

- Maintain class averages and coursebook stock.

- Provide academic support and guidance to students and teaching staff.

- Coordinate placement, progress, and exit testing.

- Assist with planning and delivering induction sessions.

- Manage and support teaching staff.


Teacher Training:


- Develop and update academic materials and programs.

- Allocate teachers to classes/courses.

- Provide support and training to teaching staff.


Recruitment:


- Hire EFL teachers and manage staff database.

- Conduct online interviews and pre-course tests.


Human Resources:


- Ensure staff are paid correctly and on time.

- Manage leave and participate in employee appraisal schemes.

- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment.


Sales and Marketing:


- Maximize local direct sales and support marketing activities.

- Represent English Path at local education fairs and marketing events.


Financial Management:


- Review financial performance and manage budgets.

- Ensure the financial success of the school.


Requirements:


- Eligibility to work and live in the country.

- Proven ability to work within a team and autonomously.

- Full working proficiency in English and French language.

- Strong phone presence, communication skills, and experience in customer service roles.

- Experience in International Education or the English Language sector.

- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.

- Experience with cross-cultural or international business relationships.

- Structured and creative approach to lesson planning.

- A desire to continue professional development and support less experienced teachers.


Education and Experience:


- DELTA or equivalent level ELT qualification.

- Minimum bachelor’s degree.

- Experience providing academic support and feedback.

- Knowledge of student visa regulations is desirable.


Safeguarding and Welfare Responsibilities:


- Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring procedures to safeguard students.

- Promote safeguarding within the school and maintain a positive, inclusive environment.

- Manage cases of poor practice and abuse, liaising with external agencies as needed.

- Support the Academic team with classroom management and student behavior.
