Data Scientist/Data Analyst – Financial Risk Management (H/F)

Within Corporate functions, ArcelorMittal Treasury is the central treasury of the Group, acting as the internal bank of the Group, facing financial markets to deal with all corporate finance and price risk management matters. Scope of assets under management, number of subsidiaries managed by Treasury and structure of the cash pooling make AM Treasury one of the most elaborate and sophisticated corporate treasuries.

As a Data Scientist/Data Analyst within the Financial Risk Management (FRM) team, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing and enhancing data-driven tools to support and improve trading activities and results. Your role will emphasize data engineering, automation, and advanced analytics.

Responsibilities:

• PowerBI transition: Lead the creation and automation of PowerBI reports to streamline data presentation and accessibility
• Data Warehouse Design: Support and lead the design of the data warehouse and creation of analytical tools
• Optimization Solutions: Provide data-driven solutions to optimize FRM processes and reduce routine work
• Algorithm Development: Collaborate with quantitative analysts and traders on structuring and developing trading algorithms based on machine learning
• Machine Learning: Own full cycle of machine learning products from ideation and training through deployment into our production environment (Databricks/MLFlows/GitHub)
• Model and System Reliability: Ensure the reliability and performance of models and systems through regular maintenance and updates
• Code Optimization: Optimize code for enhanced computational power and efficiency
• Data quality: Ensure data reliability and perform appropriate cleaning for model development
• Workshops and Project Management: Design and conduct workshops to capture user needs and conduct user interviews to analyze and model business requirements for data-related projectsand manage these projects effectively
• Automation Support: Assist the FRM team in automating financial market processes and reporting

Required Education, Experience and Skills:

• Education: Master’s degree in IT, Data Science, or a related field with experience in Financial Markets and/or Treasury
• Experience: At least two years of experience in a Data Scientist or data-oriented roles
• Interest in Financial Markets: A strong interest in financial markets, derivatives, algorithms, and coding
• Financial Tools Familiarity: Familiarity with Bloomberg and Refinitiv is a plus
• Understanding of Treasury and Finance: Knowledge of Treasury and Finance functions
• Language Skills: Fully proficient in English, both verbal and written. Fluency in French is a strong plus
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of PowerBI DAX, M, MLflow, Azure, Git, Python, SQL, machine learning, and other data analysis tools
