MacGregor Black are partnering with a fast growing, independent UK fashion brand in the search for a Merchandise Director. This is a permanent role based in Manchester.
Key Responsibilities
- Full responsibility for managing global distribution centre stock files.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of stock to the right distribution centre in appropriate quantities, leveraging a comprehensive understanding of sales performance by category and territory.
- Maintain control over stock levels based on weekly sales and stock intakes, ensuring core lines are consistently in stock.
- Manage end-of-life stock strategy in collaboration with the Operations and QC teams to prevent excess stock accumulation.
- Collaborate closely with the Executive Team to contribute to overall business strategy and growth.
- Partner with Design, Ecommerce, and Marketing teams to maximize sales performance by category and territory and align purchasing plans with the CEO.
- Oversee category budgets and forecasts, including variance analysis.
- Lead a Merchandising team of six, ensuring the team meets core KPIs.
- Manage wholesale accounts.
What are we looking for?
- Over 10 years of experience in buying and merchandising within eCommerce.
- Extensive experience in online trade planning.
- Strategic mindset with a strong focus on operational excellence.
- Deep understanding of online customer behaviour.
- Confident in managing complex cross-functional projects and driving change among senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and understand data.
- Awareness of current and emerging best practices in merchandising/buying, with the ability to make business recommendations.
- Commercially minded with a strong focus on business growth and development, able to work towards metrics and targets.
- Naturally retail-oriented, with a commitment to delivering on customer promises.
- Balanced intellectual and emotional intelligence.
- Ability to develop ideas with a solid foundation of internal/external data.
- Independent and self-directed, while also capable of leading a team of creative individuals.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to persuasively present ideas.
- Outcome-focused manager with a strong team orientation.
- Experience with SQL, querying, and BI tools is desirable.
- EMEA/MA experience a plus.
