Marketing Intern - Social Media & Content

Pen Test Partners / PTP has been providing cyber security expertise to a huge variety of industries and businesses since 2010. We’re paid to hack and test the security of all sorts of things, as well as providing essential consultancy, digital forensics and incident response / DFIR, and cyber security accreditations. We are seeking a motivated and creative Marketing Intern (paid) to join our team during the summer months.

We’ve tested ships and rigs (at sea!), connected and electric vehicles, the power grids and the stations that keeps countries functioning, as well as the payment, transport, and fulfilment systems on which everybody is reliant. We also do security research. Through that we help get flawed products off shop shelves and assist manufacturers to improve their security game. Purpose of role

The Marketing Assistant will support the Marketing Manager and wider teams with a broad range of activities with a strong focus on our social media platforms, image & video content.

A key part of the role is understanding PTP’s tone of voice and communicating consistently, and effectively in that style.

The Marketing Intern will bring a fresh outlook on how PTP can interact with its audience/s on social media, be bold in challenging the status-quo, and be willing to learn at pace.

Role requirements

• Help us review and develop what PTP’s social media presence should look like – we love taking ideas and turning them into reality without the red tape.
• Suggest, design, create, and curate social media content
• Monitor and engage with our social media audience/s, tell us what you think works and what doesn’t to grow our follower numbers and engagement
• Work with our internal blog authors to get their content published – have a go at sub editing them when you’re ready to
• Create our blogging and social media calendar
• Advise and help with blog, website and social media image and video creation
• Join the team responsible for organising and promoting events
• Contribute creative ideas whenever and wherever you see them – we want our intern to leave their mark at PTP

Skills and experience

• Currently pursuing a degree or similar in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
• Can clearly show evidence of abilities applicable to marketing, in particular social media and content creation
• Ability to communicate in a concise and effective manner
• Confident and comfortable with social media platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, X, and YouTube
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word and Outlook ideally.
• Detail-oriented, organised, and able to meet deadlines
• Enthusiastic about learning and contributing to an interesting, non-traditional marketing environment

Compensation

This is a paid internship with a competitive rate. We hope that you’ll gain valuable hands-on experience and exposure to various aspects of marketing in cyber security. For maximum effectiveness two way, we’d like you to spend a minimum of three days per week in our office in Verney Junction near Buckingham. This is tricky to get to via public transport, so please consider transport arrangements before applying.
