Service Care Finance are currently recruiting for a Services Accountant to join the Planning and Environmental directorate at a Local Authority in Surrey on a temporary basis. The postholder will provide quality financial advice and information to Heads of Service and Budget Managers to support their decision making, financial planning, monitoring and reporting.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

• Preparation of the final accounts, including producing working papers and liaison with the Council’s external auditors.
• Preparation of revenue estimates.
• Providing monthly revenue budget monitoring reports for budget managers.
• Supporting the development of the Medium Term Financial Strategy
• Providing financial advice, information and support to budget managers.
• Reconciliations of control accounts.
• Government returns and claims.

We are looking for CCAB/CIMA qualified Accountants with extensive experience in Local Authority Finance with experience of multiple of the above duties. If you are looking for an exiting opportunity to continue your career in Local Authority Finance, please apply!
