Overview of Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Risk Lead/Associate to lead and shape our diverse and expanding risk team. For this senior role, we are seeking an ambitious individual with strong risk, controls and performance capabilities to help shape our risk proposition, support business development and grow the risk team nationally.


This role will sit within the Programme Performance team with opportunities in the transport (rail, local transport, aviation, highways), infrastructure (energy, utilities, defence and technology) sectors as well as opportunities to grow into wider Programme Performance roles.


The candidate will also support and guide junior/intermediate positions, while driving projects requirements and activities. This role will also involve a level of communication with project clients and stakeholders.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop bespoke fit for purpose risk frameworks that are adaptable to client/organisational needs and aspirations.
  • As a subject matter expert, you will be able to lead the delivery of projects and manage the team supporting the Programme Performance Service Director.
  • Facilitate identification, assessment and prioritisation of threats, benefits, efficiencies, opportunities and issues.
  • Drive a proactive focus on mitigation and realisation actions to meet client targets and benefits realisation. Proactively identify acceleration or saving opportunities to better enable successful project delivery.
  • Proven ability to interface with technical specialists and constructively challenge their knowledge and understanding to provide solutions to clients.
  • Expert in the use of risk data to inform business case, investment and go/no decisions.
  • Conduct integrated quantitative risk analysis (cost and schedule), including what-if scenarios to inform project contingency levels.
  • Familiarity of the various lens’ risk should be viewed through i.e. not just QRA, including but not limited to Benchmarking, RCF, stress-testing, variance modelling, AI etc.
  • Candidates will be expected to demonstrate experienced levels of competence with tools such as Safran and @risk and be familiar with other risk/Programme Performance tools – Nodes and Links, nPlan, Acumen Fuse, ARM and Power BI.
  • Develop integrated Programme Performance dashboards that align risk data with scope and change, cost, schedule and benefits data to support better informed decision making.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a risk delivery role on major infrastructure projects/programmes.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, confident in a client-facing and business growth roles.
  • Excellent communication and articulation skills, being able to confidently guide Exec/Seniors through what risk outputs truly mean, avoiding risk jargon.
  • Proven ability of leading and developing risk teams, both in a client environment and internally.
  • Committed to challenging the norm and identifying new and efficient ways of working.
  • Bid and project management experience for public and private clients.
  • Familiarity with sustainability and social value risk management including TCFD.
  • APM/IRM Risk certified.
