Job Description

Reporting to the General Manager of the France Business Unit, and functionally to the Group Head of Training, the Training Manager is responsible for the operational and strategic development and success of the Training department for France. This department manages all EASA-certified pilot training courses, as well as those approved by other Civil Aviation Authorities (CAA), for both French and international clients (300 airline customers) not served by another training center in the group. The Training Manager's mission is to develop the business in France and internationally, in cooperation with the commercial department, while accelerating its digital transformation within the context of the group's strong growth (+25% per year).


The Training Manager oversees the Training team for France, including the regulatory Post Holders: CTKI, CFI, Head of Training TBM, who also report to the Group Head of Training, as well as the administrative teams. They ensure smooth collaboration with other internal departments : Customer Service, Commercial, QHSE, Finance, Human Resources, IT, and jointly organize relations with clients and external regulatory authorities (EASA and other CAAs).


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the department and ensure its compliance with regulations and internal rules defined by the Group Head of Training.
  • Drive the development of the Training activity in France and abroad in partnership with the sales team: maintain relationships with key clients, identify new opportunities, monitor competitors, and develop new initiatives.
  • Lead the team's growth (recruitment, career development) in line with business expansion.
  • Streamline and optimize policies and existing processes to efficiently design and evaluate training programs, increasing operational capacity and reducing errors.
  • Define and monitor KPIs, implement a performance tracking system for the entire Training France team.
  • Modernize and digitize documentation tools to increase processing efficiency and contribute to the evolution of training tools (technology and content).
  • Participate in and monitor Training France budgets, taking responsibility for the Training France P&L.
  • In coordination with other departments, ensure the optimal use of the ERP Simorg (client-specific settings, course creation, etc.) and other software.
  • Ensure the quality of training provided (ATO, WET, etc.) from initial project handling, through custom program development, to successful implementation.
  • Participate in identifying regulatory anomalies and ensure the monitoring and resolution of CPAR(s) (Corrective Preventive Action Request) and follow up on corrective actions in connection with Simorg.
  • Supervise supplier performance, negotiate, and manage contracts with subcontractors.
  • Prepare and conduct audits (authorities and clients).
  • Conduct analyses of trainee and instructor satisfaction reports, and monitor client feedback.
  • Oversee the operational management of the service (scheduling, leave, task sharing, etc.).
  • Track and ensure the timely submission of training files (including design).
  • Organize the process of validating schedules and verifying the completeness of files (final check).
  • Participate in and analyze the Business Unit Training report.
  • Monitor DACP progress.


Desired Competencies

  • Background in engineering, business, MSc, or an equivalent French Bac+5.
  • Experience related to pilot population or a strong interest in aviation.
  • Experience in training within a fast developing and expanding context.
  • Over 5 years of experience managing teams.
  • Knowledge of project management.
  • Familiarity with new technologies and IT tools.
  • Excellent command of English (spoken and written) - minimum level C1.
