Cost and Management Accountant

A Private Company is seeking a dedicated Cost & Management Accountant with experience in the Paarl area. The Cost & Management Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial operations related to farming operations which includes budgeting, cost management, performance evaluation, and asset management. The accountant will support executive management by providing detailed financial insights and analysis, aiding in strategic decision-making to optimize agricultural production. The ideal candidate will be expected to fulfil the following responsibilities (but not limited to) : Maintain and update cost accounting systems and procedures specific to farming operations; Analyse and allocate costs to various farming operations; Conduct variance analysis to identifying factors impacting production costs; Develop, implement, and manage financial policies and procedures tailored to farming operations; Generate detailed management reports and variance analyses related to production; Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks; Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards relevant to the agricultural sector; Analyse inventory variances and implement corrective measures to optimize resource utilization; Monitor project costs and provide financial oversight throughout the project lifecycle, from planting to harvest; Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI to visualize financial data and key performance indicators; Integrate data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and consistency in Power BI reports. The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements : A Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of five years experience in a similar role, preferably in the agricultural sector. Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Advanced skills in Power BI for data visualization and reporting. Knowledge of farming production processes and financial implications. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
