Barman

Area/Location: Franchoek, Cape Town Our client is looking for a Barman to join their organisation. Position Overview: As a Barman, you will be responsible for crafting and serving a range of beverages, including cocktails, beers, and non-alcoholic drinks. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the bar area, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring that all drinks are prepared to the highest standards. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for mixology and a flair for creating enjoyable experiences in a vibrant setting. Key Responsibilities: Drink Preparation: Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, beers, wines, and soft drinks. Ensure that all drinks are prepared according to standard recipes and presentation guidelines. Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to guests, including taking drink orders, making recommendations, and addressing any questions or concerns. Create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere at the bar. Bar Maintenance: Keep the bar area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies. Manage inventory levels and perform regular checks to ensure that all products are fresh and properly stored. Compliance: Adhere to all legal and safety regulations regarding the serving of alcohol. Check identification to verify legal drinking age and ensure responsible alcohol service. Cash Handling: Accurately handle cash and credit transactions, process payments, and give change. Maintain accurate records of sales and report any discrepancies to the bar manager. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other bar staff, servers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation and effective communication. Support team members as needed to ensure a positive work environment. Qualifications: Experience: Previous experience as a bartender or in a similar role is preferred. Knowledge of cocktail recipes, mixology techniques, and drink presentation is essential. Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Certification in responsible beverage service or bartending (where applicable) is a plus. Attributes: Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and remain calm under pressure.
