Position Summary Effective September 7th, 2021 all applicants must provide proof of full vaccination against Covid-19 (in the form of watermark receipts from the provincial portal) or provide written proof of a medical or religious reason for not being fully vaccinated as per the provincial direction as set out by the CMOH Directive 6. The RN demonstrates professional development and clinical competency, utilizes the nursing process to assess plan, implement and evaluate patient care, addresses health educational needs for patients and families, and other health care providers, manages patient care assignments as well as other organizational tasks related to patient unit operations and acts in a clinical leadership role in the coordination of patient care for all assigned patients. Reporting to the Clinical Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for providing evidence based, comprehensive, safe, effective and ethical nursing care to all clients in need of CCN Services. Education Requirements Graduate of an accredited college or university nursing program Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification Mandatory Qualifications Current experience (2 years) in family centered neonatal care and stabilization Completion of Perinatal Certificate/NICU Currently N.R.P certificate Current STABLE certificate Breastfeeding certificate or Board Certified Lactation Consultant Able to perform neonatal I.V. starts and venipuncture Mandatory Competencies Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a team focus Creative problem solver with a customer focus and patient friendly approach Proven critical thinking skills Ability to multi task and set priorities in a rapidly changing environment Ability to establish work relationships with external partners Excellent patient assessment skills Reliable individual with excellent attendance record Preferred Member of RNAO Self directed individual with the ability to work both independently and in partnership with members of the inter professional team Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and personal development in nursing Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills Ability to be a coach, teacher and mentor to colleagues and students Primary Responsibilities Also Include Safety (patient, worker & workplace) is a BCHS Corporate Priority.
