Property Litigation Lawyer

Following a significant increase in workflow, our client, a West End firm, is looking for a Solicitor to join the London Property Litigation team. The department is highly regarded and has received rankings in Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners, with the Partners also receiving recommendations.

This role is likely to appeal to someone who is seeking a long-term career as part of a busy team operating within a highly profitable, long established and reputable West End firm.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of relevant proven post qualification experience. The candidate will be expected to deal with the usual "bread and butter" management issues which arise from having a number of institutional landlord clients who own a number of shopping centres around the country. This includes dealing with opposed and unopposed lease renewals, vacant possession strategy, dilapidations disputes (on an interim and final basis) serving notices and disputing their validity, disputes regarding the assignability of leases, alterations carried out and managing/supervising others in connection with any arrears cases. In addition, the candidate will deal with forfeitures, obtaining lease/consent to forfeiture, applications in relation to relief from forfeiture, obtaining injunctions, dealing with any insolvency issues that arise, and removing unauthorised occupiers.

The firm's working environment is very "hands on", with support and supervision; a sound commercial sense and ability to handle clients is essential. The candidate will be given access to paralegals to assist with tasks where necessary.

Good client liaison abilities, and the ability to work under pressure on high profile litigation with tight deadlines will be required.
