Estimator

We are looking to recruit for a Technical Estimator for our growing company based on the outskirts of Cardiff who will be responsible for interpreting our customers needs using company software and design software to provide accurate project specific solutions.

Duties:

• Ensure major project quotations and technical submission are on time, accurate and commercially sound to maximise their chance of conversion to order.
• Develop and maintain improved communication within the wider Operations Team
• Manage, update, and take ownership of project folders.
• Ensure that all key information at enquiry stage is obtained to offer the best suitable solution to the client.
• Confidently discuss information of a technical nature with customers.
• Ensure that designs produced are compliant with current legislation/regulations and industry best practice.
• Support customers and colleagues in the timely resolution of technical enquiries.
• Provide excellent customer service to colleagues and customers alike.

Skills and person spec

• Good working knowledge and experience in a similar technical role, ideally with a commercial market focus.
• Good commercial awareness and a strong understanding of engineering, contractual principles, and methods of working.
• Good analytical and critical thinking skills, with an excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent planning, organisation, and time management skills.
• A mechanical/ electrical/ building services engineering qualification e.g., HNC or equivalent.
• A strong technical mechanical or electrical background.
