Vacancy: Prototype Engineer

Location: Royston, UK

As the Prototype Engineer you will work autonomously to produce individual Prototype washcoat formulations and Prototype catalyst orders to meet customer specifications, industrialisation input requirements and quality specifications, whilst adhering to all EHS standards

This is a shift based role working a 06:00 - 14:00 & 14:00 - 22:00 (Mon-Thur) 12:00 - 20:00 (Fri)

Your responsibilities:
  • To independently carry out all steps in the manufacturing process for a specific customer order to ensure delivery of parts to schedule and expected delivery date, contributing to department SPQDC KPIs
  • To continuously develop strong technical knowledge of all new and existing products, processes and equipment and to use this to support delivery of customer prototype orders and industrialisation requirements.
  • To identify where new products or formulations present manufacturing challenges on standard equipment or settings and to deploy technical skills, knowledge and problem-solving tools to resolve medium complexity issues
  • To comply with to all JM EHS standards in their daily work and to contribute to a strong EHS culture in the team

Requirements for the role:
  • Degree level education in Science/Engineering or related discipline, or extensive experience in manufacturing processes.
  • To be able to operate independently, whilst working for the best interests of the team.
  • Excellent communication skills to ensure clarity is maintained in a fast-moving environment
