Principal Project Manager

Join the Workplace Technology delivery team, closely aligned with the Sky Spaces (Property & Construction) team, as a Principal Project Manager. In this role, you will lead the delivery of Workplace Technology projects across the UK, Europe, and Asia, supporting the construction, refurbishment, and reconfiguration of Sky's office spaces. You will be responsible for managing the installation and commissioning of tech hardware, including desk setups, meeting rooms, event spaces, AV and Video Conferencing systems, network cabling, Wi-Fi, and mobile signal distribution. Strong leadership and senior stakeholder management skills are essential, along with knowledge of RIBA project stages and a proven track record in project management. Based in Osterley, West London, this role requires frequent travel and extensive experience in project scoping, planning, procurement, execution, and budget management.

What you'll do:
  • Lead design and planning workshops, capturing requirements, defining project scope, estimating budgets, and securing necessary funding.
  • Oversee the procurement process, including conducting RFPs, managing competitive tenders, raising purchase orders, and coordinating the delivery of equipment.
  • Manage the installation and commissioning of technical fitouts, including structured cabling, Wi-Fi solutions, AV and video conferencing systems, and workspace technology setups.
  • Coordinate the creation of new office spaces across the UK, Europe, and Asia, while ensuring compliance with environmental and sustainability standards during decommissioning.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment on tactical and strategic planning, and providing clear, effective status reporting.
  • Manage project budgets, track financials, mitigate risks, handle change requests, and resolve issues promptly to ensure successful project delivery across multiple workstreams.
  • Travel frequently to Sky sites in the UK, Europe, and Asia, while being based in Osterley, West London.
What you'll bring:
  • Extensive experience engaging with senior stakeholders, including at Executive/Directorate level, fostering strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven expertise in successfully delivering both IT and technical office fit out projects, with over two years' experience in technical project management.
  • Adept at leading and motivating project teams to ensure success and collaboration.
  • Ability to address technical and cross-functional issues, producing solutions and effectively communicating strategically and tactically with stakeholders across multiple teams.
  • Proficiency in Waterfall, working to RIBA stages including the ability to develop and refine delivery tools and processes to enhance project outcomes.
  • History of line management or mentoring other project staff, indicating leadership, and coaching capabilities to support team growth and development.
