Team Manager - Learning Disabilities Team
Newcastle, UK
£24 - £30 per hour

About the Role:

Randstad is seeking a motivated and experienced Team Manager to lead the Learning Disabilities Team in Newcastle.
This is a fantastic opportunity to manage a dedicated team focused on providing essential care and support to individuals with learning disabilities.
The successful candidate will ensure high-quality services are delivered, promoting independence and enhancing the quality of life for service users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of social workers and support staff, ensuring that services meet the needs of individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Oversee the assessment and review process for service users, ensuring care plans are tailored, person-centered, and compliant with relevant legislation.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals, including health, housing, and education, to deliver coordinated and holistic support to individuals.
  • Ensure that safeguarding procedures are followed and that any risks are managed effectively, promoting the safety and well-being of service users.
  • Report to senior management on team progress, challenges, and areas for improvement, contributing to the overall strategy for the learning disabilities service.
  • Stay updated with the latest policies, legislation, and best practices in the field of learning disabilities.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with valid Social Work England registration.
  • Previous experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a learning disabilities or adult social care setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding legislation.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage complex cases and support staff with decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centered services and promoting equality and diversity.
