The Role:

As a Senior Mechanic, you will be the backbone of our client's operations, ensuring that all landscaping machinery and vehicles are maintained to the highest standards. Your expertise will be critical in minimizing downtime and ensuring that the team can deliver outstanding results to clients. This position offers the chance to work with a wide variety of equipment, from small engines to heavy-duty machinery, making it both a challenging and rewarding role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a fleet of landscaping machinery and vehicles.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues efficiently to reduce downtime.
• Managing a small team of mechanics and apprentices, providing guidance and training as needed.
• Conducting regular inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure machinery operates safely and effectively.
• Keeping accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed.
• Ordering parts and managing inventory to ensure the workshop is well-stocked.
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations in all mechanical operations.
• Liaising with management to plan and prioritize maintenance schedules.

What We're Looking For:

• Extensive experience as a mechanic, preferably within the landscaping, agricultural, or construction industries.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and small engines.
• Leadership experience, with the ability to manage and mentor a team.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• A proactive approach to maintenance and repairs, with a focus on preventing issues before they arise.
• Relevant qualifications in mechanics or a related field.
• A full UK driving licence.
