Community Shop Manager, Steeple Ashton Village Shop, 15-20 hrs pwk

Job Summary
We have an exciting new role for a part time Manager for our community shop and cafe, based in the village of Steeple Ashton.

You will be supported by an active committee, part time shop supervisor and our team of volunteers.

Responsibilities

- Manage the day to day running of the shop and café

- Adhere to all compliance and health and safety requirements.

- Maximise sales and profits through effective management of stock, premises and finances.

- Recruit, train and, most importantly, motivate a team of volunteers to ensure adequate staffing which covers agreed opening hours and all associated tasks.

- Direct management of the Supervisor.

- Participate and contribute to the ongoing development of the shop

Requirements
- Previous retail management

- Excellent communication skills

- Excellent computer skills, particularly Excel, Word and online ordering systems

- Strong people management skills and experience of working with volunteers

- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team

- Be prepared to take on responsibilities or training in line with the needs of the business
