Position Overview:
As a Heating Audit engineer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating the compliance and audit of competence of heating service and breakdowns within our organisation. Your primary responsibilities will include auditing and mentoring a team of engineers, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies, and ensuring all operatives meet the high technical and general competency requirements of CCS. You will be tasked with conducting regular inspections of gas maintenance programmes, carrying out both WIP and post technical audits of engineers, checking for image, branding, safety (PPE) and ensuring upskilling and general competence on renewable energy systems and understanding of their PDA use and internal policies. You shall also be an autonomous support for engineers, trainees and apprentices to coach and guide them to improve their knowledge and productivity and compliance with engineer code of conduct and duties defined by CCS. Your strong leadership skills, technical expertise in heating service and breakdowns, and commitment to safety will be essential in achieving operational excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within our gas operations team.
The successful candidate will need to posses qualifications in Auditing already or agree to work towards them and be formally trained within 12 months of occupation of the role, also will need to agree to become a renewables expert and gain formal qualification in heat pumps, solar thermal and MVHR and ventilation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete cyclical auditing of heating engineers across all fuels
Complete work in progress auditing of engineers and safety checks
Provide support, training and mentoring post induction to new engineers to help them
adjust and bed in to CCS
Provide support in completing risk based audits requested by managers or supervisors
Provide PDA training and coaching around engineer code of conduct
Provide workshops, attend TBTs and training for admin based staff also to widen their
knowledge of the day to day operations.
Provide liaison and support during busy and difficult times to keep operatives focussed
and motivated.
Key Duties:
Completed all levels of auditing across the south of England and across all service and
maintenance teams. Occasionally support planned installation team also.
Support administrative staff with technical training to help their wider knowledge and
understanding of works
Provide support to customer experience manager on technical scripting and triage of
repairs calls and inbound jobs
Provide mentoring and coaching, support to apprentices, trainees, engineers and all staff
required to improve knowledge, improve productivity as well.
Provide technical assistance to any complaints and gas safety/heating issues where
required in busy periods.
Support ops teams during winter with picking up additional workload where possible and
required in peak times.
Provide eventual mentoring and support on all levels to staff during busy periods or any
time of they year as an independent voice.

Skills/Qualifications:
General competence in the given trade, CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1, CPA1.
BPEC L3 Heat Pump Install and Maintenance.
Unvented hot water systems would be advantageous.
Energy efficiency L3
Good fault-finding skills.
Punctuality, professionalism, flexibility and working knowledge of Mobile PDA.
Experience Required:
Minimum of 3 years experience engineering level.
Experience of working within the Social Housing sector on gas/renewable maintenance
contracts.
Experience Supervising others
Experience of working with residents and clients directly.
A clean UK driving license and DBS check will be required.
Working within the renewables industry
Experience as a mentor and guide for all types of people and personalities.
