Organisation Information:

Bouygues Travaux Publics (TP) and Laing O’Rourke, two of Europe’s most dynamic engineering and construction specialists, are working together in a joint venture named BYLOR to deliver the main civil engineering works at Hinkley Point C (HPC) worth over £2.8 billion.

Bylor are responsible for the Design & Build (D&B) including fit out and handover of the HBX Operations Service Centre (OSC) within Hinkley Point C. The building is a mixed use warehouse/office/laboratory/restaurant and office building which connects to both Unit 1& 2 Turbine Halls via sky bridges.

Purpose of the role:

Responsible for directly leading and managing a team on site to deliver the building package of the HBX building on site.

Key responsibilities and specific accountabilities:

• Strong package management experience- CSA/MEP interfaces key
• Monitors progress to ensure handover deadlines are met to achieve client and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Sets standards and creates benchmarks for others to follow.
• Manages the client through inspection and handover process.
• Delivers completion strategy for project and contributes to process for ensuring that all works are correctly planned.
• Monitors progress to ensure handover deadlines are met to achieve client and stakeholder satisfaction.

Essential skills & knowledge:

• Experience in the buildings sector and/or data centre environment
• Engineering/trade background preferrable
• Logical and well organised
• Ability to manage, support and motivate others
• Good communicator (spoken and written)
• Able to manage workload by understanding requirements and deadlines
• Ability to manage change and adapt to new procedures

Additional Information:

All positions with Bylor are employed directly with either Laing O’Rourke or Bouygues Travaux Public and include competitive salaries, private medical insurance, company pension schemes and annual holiday allowance. Some grades will also include a company car allowance.

Unless stated otherwise all positions are based at Hinkley Point C in Somerset.
