Job Description

We are looking for 2 x Edgebander Machine Operators to work on a temp to permanent basis in Newton Le Willows.

One will be working permanent days - Monday to Thursday 6am - 2pm and Friday 6am to 12.30pm.
Starting rate will be £14.98 per hour/£26 476.24 rising to £16.54 per hour/£29,248 per annum

Permanent nights - 4 nights per week - 10 hour shifts- 8pm- 6am.
£16.87 per hour / £31,583 per annum rising to £18.44 per hour / £34,519 per annum.

The rates will increase once 12- week probationary period will be completed.

Duties for the Edgebander Machine Operator:

Main duties to include:

  • The ability to understand the computer program used on the Homag machines
  • Complete the task and safely transfer production batches from one department to another following process flow.
  • Organise production to ensure that the most effective and efficient approach is taken.
  • Ensure a good standard of housekeeping is maintained in all work areas.
  • Where necessary clean panels prior to despatch.
  • Ensure all panels are to a high-quality standard.
  • Ensure all panels are completed in accordance with the job sheet.
  • Undertake any other reasonable role as and when required.
  • Set the tools, saws and parameters of the machine, when changing product etc.
  • Ensure that the correct stock edging has been used for the job.
  • Communicate with the production management team and the sales department.
