Salary: up to £40k DOE

Grafton Recruitment are delighted to be working with a great Logistics business in Hull who are seeking a highly knowledgeable and experienced Customs Specialist to join their team and play a vital role in ensuring compliance with Customs regulations.


THE ROLE:

Key responsibilities as Customs Broker:

  • Ensure all import/export operations comply with national and international customs laws, tariffs and regulations.
  • Coordinating planned activities with Logistics, Plants and Warehouses, Transportation Partners.
  • Prepare, review, and process necessary customs documentation, including import/export declarations, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
  • Understanding of the customer, market, and import/export requirements.
  • Collaboration with supply chain partners and third-party transportation partners to determine most effective way to fulfil the order for the customer.
  • Stay updated on changes in customs regulations, trade agreements, and industry trends.
  • Performing due diligence activities associated with screening process of Third Parties with the ability to check at transactional level.
  • Determining import/export controls EUR1, GSP, ATR, COO, End Use, IPR, OPR, Import/Export Licences applicable to the order and coordinate with the trade compliance team as needed;


THE CANDIDATE:

  • You will have a two or more years of experience in handling all aspects of Customs experience within the Logistics and Supply Chain industry.
  • Attention to the details – Exceptional accuracy in handling documentation and compliance matters.
  • Strong Communication Skills.
  • Fluency in English written and spoken.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience in import and export.
  • Experience in developing work procedures and written instructions.
  • Ability to read and interpret government regulations.
