Job Description

Are you an enthusiastic IT professional looking to make a significant impact in a dynamic and supportive environment? We are a small, dedicated team of IT experts seeking a 1st/2nd Line IT Engineer to support our growing organisation. With 141 staff spread across multiple locations, you'll have the opportunity to work with a variety of technologies and make a real difference in our day-to-day operations.


Key Responsibilities:


1st Line Duties:

  1. Provide front-line support for all IT-related issues.
  2. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems on both MacOS and Windows OS.
  3. Assist users with connectivity issues and basic network troubleshooting.
  4. Manage user accounts and permissions across various systems.
  5. Handle basic email support and configuration (Exchange OnPrem and 365).


2nd Line Duties:

  1. Diagnose and resolve more complex IT issues, escalating to 3rd line support when necessary.
  2. Manage and maintain Windows Server environments and hybrid setups with 365.
  3. Implement and support MS Intune for device management and security compliance.
  4. Administer SharePoint sites and permissions.
  5. Oversee Veeam Backup solutions to ensure data integrity and availability.
  6. Configure and monitor Sophos Central for endpoint protection.
  7. Manage and troubleshoot Cisco Meraki network devices.


Required Experience and Qualifications:


Educational Background

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
  2. Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate).


Technical Skills:

  1. Proficient in MacOS and Windows OS.
  2. Hands-on experience with Windows Server administration.
  3. Knowledge of Exchange OnPrem and Office 365 administration.
  4. Familiarity with hybrid setups involving Windows Server and Office 365.
  5. Experience with MS Intune for device management.
  6. Understanding of SharePoint administration and support.
  7. Proficiency in Veeam Backup solutions.
  8. Competence with Sophos Central for endpoint security.
  9. Experience with Cisco Meraki network solutions.


Experience:

  1. Proven experience in a 1st/2nd line support role.
  2. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
  3. Experience in supporting users in a multi-location environment.

  1. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  2. Strong customer service orientation.
  3. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  4. Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

Additional Qualifications:

  1. Experience with remote support tools and techniques.
  2. Understanding of network fundamentals and basic networking principles.
  3. Awareness of cybersecurity principles and practices.


Certifications (Preferred but not mandatory):

  1. Microsoft Certified: MCP, Azure Fundamentals or Associate.
  2. Apple Certified: Desktop Specialist.
  3. Any other relevant certifications in networking, security, or cloud technologies.
  4. Knowledge of ArchiCAD and BIMCloud solutions.
