Vacancy - Training Manager

Are you a passionate and dynamic Training Manager with proven experience in leading teams of trainers and instructors? Do you excel at identifying learning needs and aligning them with future operational goals? We are looking for a Training Manager to lead our team of dedicated instructors and trainers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.


Your Role

As the Training Manager, you will oversee a team responsible for designing, developing, and delivering a variety of training programs. These programs will cover areas such as onboarding, technical skills, people skills, compliance, and management development. Your team will also be tasked with evaluating the effectiveness of training initiatives, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the division. By leveraging your expertise, you will guide the team in creating engaging and impactful learning experiences that drive employee performance and growth.


You will oversee the learning needs analysis process to assesses the knowledge, skills and behaviours necessary for effective performance across the business area today, but also prepare the workforce for the future.


Working closely with the Operations Service Manager, you will help develop and implement Learning and Development strategies which support the organisations short and long term goals. You will promote a successful Health and Safety culture, striving towards our zero-accident ambition and achievement of EHS objectives.


You will maintain regular and effective communication with the Resource Team, assessing trainee competency, provide updates on training plans and supporting current and future training needs based in operational priorities.


What you'll bring

You will have proven experience in Learning and Development, or a related field, ideally gained within a Port or similar environment. With exceptional communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, you will have the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.


You will have a strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies and learning technologies. You will have an analytical mindset with the ability to collect, analyse and interpret data to inform decision making and measure the impact of learning initiatives.


You will hold a training/instructor's qualification such as RTITB/NPORS etc. or learning qualifications such as CIPD, as well as a full UK driving. licence as travel is expected within the role.
