Job Description

We’re recruiting for Technical & Governance Consultants to join us. Working hybrid in our Hove office or remote.

This is a multi-faceted role meaning no two days will be the same! You’ll be dealing with technical appeals and audit services for our Claims and Group Protection business areas. Through collaborative engagement and understanding of the needs of the business, you’ll be driving of continuous change and improvement.

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop, document and review our Claims philosophies, techniques & practices, reviewing competitor activities, in order to ensure that we remain at the forefront of best industry practice
  • Support the training team with development and delivery of training in relation to legislative, regulatory or process changes to ensure that the quality and competency of staff is maintained
  • Conduct and deliver regular monthly audits of the outcomes made by the Claims teams in relation to the Group Protection products and Income Protection Benefit. Ensuring that a consistent, fair & acceptable level of decision making & service is provided to our customers
  • Provide a comprehensive assessment of Group Protection and Income protection claims appeals, deciding whether to accept or reject the appeal, whilst meeting the expectations of the financial advisor and our corporate clients
  • Maintain an expert level of knowledge on all technical Claims issues and regulatory/legislative issues and be a point of reference for the teams

Qualifications

Who we're looking for:

  • Someone with experience and knowledge of handling appeals, complaints, dealing with regulators, and undertaking quality assurance audits within Group Risk Products
  • An ability to work to deadlines and targets
  • Team working skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Someone with a financial services background who has proven experience of managing audits, complaints, appeals, and dealing with the Financial Ombudsman Service who can develop and ultimately thrive in this role is desirable
