Job Description

Interim Derivatives Lawyer Opportunity - Part time or full time considered

Our client a top city law firm is currently looking for a Senior Derivatives Lawyer to assist on one particular matter for one of their key banking clients.

The role would likely involve approximately 35 days’ worth of work which can be completed on either a full-time basis or part time basis (over a longer period). The post can also be completed remotely.

The need is for someone who can act in a quasi-partner level capacity supervising a multi-jurisdictional derivatives legal opinion project.

Role responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of mid-level associates and trainees and potentially legal analysts
  • Reviewing and summarising approximately 90 jurisdictional legal opinions covering a suite of non-ISDA derivatives agreements (e.g. EFET, DRV etc). These will be complex legal opinions (up to 100+ pages each)
  • Ensuring that the summaries prepared by the project team are complete and accurate, enabling a quicker final review by the matter partner who will be responsible for ultimate sign-off
  • Make judgement calls following the review of legal opinions
  • The resource will be presented with netting opinions and that data will need to be captured in excel spreadsheets and then coded as red or green

This is a great opportunity for someone looking for part time work/a shorter term project that can be completed remotely. The opportunity is to start from around beginning/mid October time.
