Location: Twinkl HQ, Sheffield (Hybrid)

4 days a week in the office until you are up to speed, 2 / 3 days a week in the office once you're set up

Annual Salary: Up to £42,000

Contract: Permanent

Role Overview:


As an IT Infrastructure Engineer at Twinkl, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the reliability and performance of our IT infrastructure while also leading and supporting various IT projects. This dual role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and a proactive mindset to ensure our IT operations run smoothly and efficiently.



Key Responsibilities:


  • IT Operations Management:
  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot the company’s IT infrastructure, including firewalls, networks, servers, and cloud services.
  • Ensure the security, availability, and performance of Twinkl's IT systems.
  • Implement and manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
  • Provide technical support to internal teams, resolving IT issues promptly.


  • Project Engineering:
  • Lead and support IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement IT solutions that support business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project documentation, including project plans, schedules, and risk assessments.
  • Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to existing IT systems and processes.


  • Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
  • Liaise with external vendors and service providers to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their IT needs and provide effective solutions.


  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, bringing innovative ideas to enhance Twinkl’s IT capabilities.
  • Contribute to the development of IT policies and procedures to ensure best practices for Twinkl are followed.



Key Requirements:

We're interested in anyone who meets one, or a combination of the following:


  • Technical Expertise:
  • Strong experience in IT operations, including server administration, networking, and cloud services.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems, as well as virtualization technologies (e.g., Hyper-V).


  • Project Management Skills:
  • Proven experience in managing and delivering IT projects, with a solid understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


  • Communication and Collaboration:
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.


Beneficial:


  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g.,Google Workspace, AWS, Azure) and cloud-based infrastructure management.
  • Knowledge of IT security best practices for firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
