HGV Class 2 Driver

Manpower is recruiting a HGV Class 2 Driver to work for our public sector client, the NHS on a temporary basis.

Location: Cwmbran

Job type: Temporary, duration unknown

Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 6.00 am - 3.00 pm

Start date: Immediate subject to satisfactory references.

Hourly rate: Tuesday to Friday £11.45, Saturday £16.14

The role
You will be responsible for loading and unloading (hand balling) laundry on and off the vehicle, undertaking vehicle checks.

To be eligible for this role you will have a:

• Valid UK HGV driving licence Class 2 (C1)


• Valid CPC Licence and Digi Tacho Card

Responsibilities:

1. Safely drive a Class 2 HGV to pick up and deliver laundry on schedule.


2. Load and unload laundry carefully to ensure it reaches its destination in good condition.


3. Keep accurate records of deliveries, noting any issues.


4. Communicate well with the dispatch team and clients to coordinate schedules.


5. Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs promptly.


6. Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.

Requirements:

1. Valid Class 2 HGV licence and CPC qualification.


2. Previous Class 2 HGV driving experience


3. Good understanding of road safety regulations.


4. Strong communication and customer service skills.


5. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.


6. Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules.


7. Physical fitness for loading and unloading.
