Job Description

**Senior Category Manager – Global Luxury Hair & Beauty Business – Ascot (Flexible Working)**



We are currently recruiting for a global leading luxury hair and beauty business, who supply some of the most well-known brands who you would recognise through TV, Radio and advertising. As a company they have over 100 stores across the UK and have been established for over 60 years. This is working within a fast paced, glamourous retail industry where they are looking for Buyers or Category Managers looking to take that next step up.



Role:


This role is responsible for the categories activity and routes to market - sales reporting, range reviews, range assortment (routes to market), promotional plans, own brand development plans, pricing and product file maintenance.



Responsibilities:


  • Represent the department in projects involving cross functional teams
  • Build accountability measures to ensure the merchandising team delivers on its commitments
  • Manage assortment and range selection for all channels and all countries
  • Undertaking regular review of given categories to optimise ranges in order to grow sales and margin
  • Delivery of new ranges and assortment reviews
  • Analyse competitor and market activity in relation to product ranges, brand development, and pricing structures
  • Development and delivery of promotional plans for all channels and all countries for the full FY
  • Work with the Data management team on forecasting for promotional activity on a monthly basis
  • Use customer insight (internal and external sources) and analysis to improve promotional effectiveness
  • Management and development of 1 direct report



Candidate:


  • Strong Commercial Retail Buying/Category management experience – developing short and long term plans
  • Evidence of building or inputting into business wide strategies
  • Proven knowledge of product development and space planning optimsation
  • Proven track record of delivering results, continuously focusing on improvements
  • Able to build effective relationships across all levels within an organisation, communicating with clarity and credibility
  • Evidence of working with suppliers, developing metrics, managing performance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including IT proficiency
