The Company

A market leading construction contractor that specialises in the delivery of bespoke offices, education, healthcare and retail frameworks across the UK.

The Project

As a highly skilled Contracts Manager, you will be based from the office in West Yorkshire and will oversee a range of projects across multiple sectors including education, healthcare, MoD / MoJ and leisure with build values up to £30m. You will coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results, ensuring that the projects are delivered on time, budget and to specification. Your responsibilities will include negotiating contract terms, monitoring project performance, resolving disputes, and maintaining comprehensive records. Your efforts will be essential in ensuring that all projects are executed smoothly, successfully, and in full compliance with contractual obligations.

Requirements;

For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;

  • SMSTS
  • CSCS Card
  • First Aid (Desired)

It is also essential that you hold the experience below;

  • Previous experience working on projects within the healthcare sector in a Contracts Manager or comparable position
  • Proven history of overseeing projects with values between £5m - £30m+
  • Extensive background within the industry with at least 5 years of experience working for a market leading construction contractor or subcontractor

The Role

  • Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire
  • Reporting to: Operations Director

Duties

  • Prepare, review, negotiate, and implement contracts
  • Conduct and manage on-site Health and Safety audits
  • Ensure adherence to applicable regulations and guidelines
  • Monitor project budgets effectively, adhering to project expenditures
  • Negotiate terms with clients, suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors
  • Ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and company policies
  • Handle contract-related issue resolution for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Assess contract-related risks and develop strategies to address and minimize them
  • Provide regular reports to the Operations Director and participate in routine meetings
  • Communicate contractual changes to all stakeholders, administration and/or management
  • Manage contract modifications and assess their impact on the project's scope, timeline, and budget
  • Build and sustain strong, positive relationships with clients, promptly addressing any concerns that arise
  • Ensure that all contract deliverables meet the required quality standards and specifications through effective oversight
  • Oversee contract expenditures, track budget performance, and ensure projects remain within budgetary constraints
  • Identify and address potential issues during contract execution, and negotiate resolutions in a professional manner
  • Oversee all aspects of contracts, encompassing the review, negotiation, and finalization of contract terms and conditions
  • Coordinate and supervise tenders, cost estimation, and project development throughout preconstruction and construction phases
  • Maintain accurate records of contracts, correspondence, and related documents, and provide regular updates to management on contract performance and compliance
  • Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions, and take corrective action as needed to address any shortcomings
