Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project has started construction and is now seeking private investment. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.
We have a fantastic opportunity for Assistant Project Managers from the construction or energy sector to join our expanding site team, working on site at Sizewell C.
This'll be a pivotal role key to the success of SZC, and you'll be joining the project at a vital time in its construction, with an opportunity to grow with the project.
The Role
You'll be based on site at Sizewell C, responsible for supporting our project managers with the delivery of highways and associated structures and utilities, within budget and on schedule to support the successful build of the project.
What You'll Do:
As one of our Assistant Project Managers, you'll be at the forefront of shaping SZC through the development of cutting-edge infrastructure. Your scope of accountability will encompass a diverse range of projects, including but not limited to:
• Design and construction of on and off-site infrastructure
• Park and Ride sites
• Rail works
• Accommodation campus
• Temporary cabins
• Temporary construction roads
• Hardstandings
• Utility networks (potable water, comms & data, power, fire fighting water, etc.)
• Highway works (bypasses, public realm works to adoptable standards)
What You'll Bring:
Proven project management experience in large-scale infrastructure, construction or energy projects, preferably client-side; such as such as HS2, HPC, Thames Tideway, CrossRail, Transport for London (TfL).
Civil Engineering background.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards in the energy or construction sector.
Experience of managing multidisciplinary teams.
Experience of working with extensive supply chains of professional and technical service providers. Managing designers, contractors, suppliers.
Experience in procurement processes and contract management and working within a regulated environment.
Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards in the construction sector.
Proficient in risk and schedule management technics.
Knowledge of CDM regulations.
Can do attitude and willingness to learn and develop.
Ability to manage external and internal stakeholders.
Negotiation and problem solving skills
It'd be great if you've got a qualification in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
