Job Description

Ultimate Products (Leading Retail Consumer Goods Brand House and PLC business) is currently experiencing fantastic success off the back of our branded strategy and has seen turnover rise to over £180m in just 3 years. Our next target is to exceed £300m in the next 3-5 years.


Already a major supplier to UK retailers including Tesco, Asda, B&M and Sainsbury and European retailers including Action, Lidl, Aldi and Kaufland, the company has aggressive plans to expand further across all major European retail markets. Now that the business is established and has business growing in UK, Germany and Holland with major retailers, we now want to focus on a series of other key retail European customers in France.


Our impressive 10,000 sqft European Showroom on the JJA business complex on the outskirts of Paris, very close to Charles De Gaulle Airport is now open and already experiencing a large footfall of customers attending. The showroom showcases our fantastic, branded product ranges, perfect for the French retail market, with Retail Buyers visiting on a regular basis.


We have innovative product ranges under well-known brands like SALTER, BELDRAY, PROGRESS, PETRA and RUSSELL HOBBS, a full implemented supply chain infrastructure capable of servicing the biggest retailers in Europe and the senior management team with ambition to be the best European Supplier to retail. Now we need suitably experienced and ambitious people to join this new chapter of the company.


As a result, we are looking to expand our European Sales team by building a team of experienced Salespeople who have knowledge and relationships of key French European Customers such as:


  • Auchan
  • La Foir' Fouille
  • Boulanger
  • System U
  • FNAC / Darty


The Job Duties

  • To use existing customer relationships and retail knowledge to successfully open and grow business in one or more of the customers listed above across multiple product categories and tiers
  • To promote and sell a wide variety of Branded Consumer Goods to these customers in order to generate large volume orders. Products can include Housewares, Small Domestic Appliances and Laundry & Cleaning. Orders can be from stock or FOB basis
  • To account manage the customer base to build strong relationships and repeated business
  • To share market knowledge and customer retail insight with the company, our product teams and senior management
  • To attend trade shows and exhibitions throughout the world
  • To attend key customer meetings at our showrooms in Paris, Manchester (UK), China (Guangzhou), Holland and Hong Kong as required.
  • In time, to help lead and drive the French sales team of the future.


What you need

  • At least 3-5 years’ experience of completing a similar sale, account management role where you have developed business and achieved sales (in excess of €8m per year) within a retail consumer setting
  • To have knowledge and experience of account managing one or more of the major retail customers stated above, understanding their requirements and buying/supply chain processes
  • To have established relationships with key contacts at one or more of the French retailers listed above
  • To be able to competently communicate in languages including English and French.
  • To have a willingness to travel around Europe and Asia as required
  • Excellent presentation and IT skills
  • Drive, ambition and determination to succeed
