Role Overview:


We are looking for a Senior Sustainability Manager to work closely with leadership, proactively shaping and refining sustainability targets that align with both our company’s ambitions and community benefits. In this role, you’ll lead the charge in embedding sustainable practices into our event management and daily team operations, driving meaningful progress towards our goals and those of our stakeholders.


What you'll be doing:


  • Develop a robust data reporting method using the Impact Reporting system, informed by insights from both internal and external sources.
  • Set clear and impactful sustainability targets that benefit both the company and the wider sports event community.
  • Champion cross-functional collaboration to strengthen our commitment to strategic sustainability goals, with progress tracked through annual Impact Reporting.
  • Continuously assess and refine sustainability initiatives to ensure they align with our targets, driving ongoing improvement.
  • Ensure strict adherence to sustainability policies, integrating them seamlessly into tournament operations and daily activities.
  • Prepare for and establish procedures to comply with climate and environmental regulations, ensuring we meet all relevant legal requirements.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, implementing comprehensive sustainability programmes and promoting best practices.
  • Explore and implement cutting-edge technologies and methods to advance sustainability in sports event management.
  • Integrate sustainable practices into everyday operations, embedding environmental responsibility at the heart of our organisational culture.
  • Lead the way in driving sustainability efforts within the organisation, inspiring others at all levels to adopt similar practices.
  • Collaborate with HR to enhance and implement strategies that support Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) commitments, ensuring these principles are woven into our sustainability initiatives and achieving tangible improvements in EDI targets.


Who You Are:


  • Highly skilled in analysing sustainability metrics and using data to drive environmental strategies and improvements.
  • Proven experience in leading sustainability initiatives within a large organisation, ideally within the sports or events sector.
  • Exceptional organisational and project management abilities, capable of steering complex projects and achieving sustainability objectives.
  • A natural communicator, adept at engaging a wide range of stakeholders and forging partnerships that advance sustainability goals.
  • Deep understanding of environmental regulations with the ability to apply innovative sustainability solutions in practical settings.
  • Creative and resourceful in identifying and implementing effective solutions to sustainability challenges.
  • A role model who leads by example, inspiring others to embrace and champion sustainable practices.
  • Adaptable and resilient, with the flexibility to adjust strategies in response to new information or changing circumstances.
  • Passionate about environmental stewardship, with a genuine commitment to promoting sustainability across the organisation.
