MacGregor Black is excited to be working with a leading retail and ecommerce business in the search for a Management Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis in Manchester.

The Role:

As a Management Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the financial department, providing key insights and financial reports.

Your responsibilities will directly impact the business’ global growth, including multi-currency transactions and sales tax compliance across different regions.

You will also support continuous improvements in financial processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

Management Accounts:

Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit & loss, balance sheets, and cash flows. Analyse financial performance, assisting with variance analysis, and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

Month-End Processes:

Support the continuous improvement of month-end processes to streamline reporting and increase efficiency.

Payroll:

Assist with the payroll process to ensure accurate and timely payments. Support in preparing and submitting payroll-related statutory returns, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.

Accruals & Prepayments:

Process monthly accruals and prepayments to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.

Business Partnering:

Work closely with various departments to provide financial insights, develop financial models, and support decision-making. Present financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders and collaborate on growth initiatives.

Multi-Currency Transactions & Global Sales Tax:

Manage multi-currency transactions and ensure compliance with sales tax regulations across the UK, EU, and other international markets as the business expands.

Balance Sheet Reconciliations:

Perform regular balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.

Support Transactional Manager:

Assist the Transactional Manager in overseeing bank reconciliations and other transactional processes to maintain robust financial controls.

Ad-Hoc Reporting & Analysis:

Provide ad-hoc reporting and financial analysis to senior management to support business strategy and operational improvements.

Audit Support:

Contribute to the annual financial audit process, providing necessary documentation and support to external auditors.

What We're Looking For:

• Ideally part or fully qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA (or equivalent).
• Previous experience in management accounts, particularly in a fast-growing or ecommerce business.
• Strong analytical skills and a high attention to detail.
• Experience with multi-currency transactions and global sales tax.
• Ability to thrive both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
