This is an opportunity to join the team as a PMO Consultant based in London.
The consultants are responsible for a wide variety of tasks across a range of complex transformation programmes at some of the world’s leading financial institutions. This role will be crucial during a period of accelerated company growth, offering the opportunity to work on innovative and impactful projects alongside a team of talented colleagues.
The PMO Consultant will collaborate with the team on client delivery and service definition, ensuring that the organization:
1. Supports relevant client needs (both service & domain)
2. Delivers a high-quality service to clients
3. Is positioned to land and grow within new target markets and services
Key Responsibilities
The PMO Consultant will have a varied mix of responsibilities, described below.
Client Delivery
- Leading PMO tasks across a wide spectrum of client engagements:
- Establishing project governance structures
- Prioritizing projects according to strategic business objectives
- Project status tracking and reporting
- RAID management
- Project team communications and escalations
- Quality Assurance - Reviewing and enhancing content produced by team members, including PowerPoint decks, BRDs, TOMs, etc.
Service Definition
- Developing and implementing a delivery governance framework to standardise the delivery approach and accelerate client objectives:
- Creating project artefacts/templates and maintaining the internal library
- Defining and implementing delivery KPIs
- Preparing delivery governance toolkits for engagement mobilisation
- Providing internal training on governance principles/standards
Team & Culture
- Onboarding and mentoring junior team members
- Demonstrating a positive, inquisitive, and ‘can-do’ approach to work
Additional Tasks
Undertaking additional duties as they arise, agreed upon on an ad-hoc basis, in alignment with company growth
Required Skills & Experience
- 3-5 years' experience within Financial Services at a major consultancy
- Successful completion of a Capital Markets graduate scheme at a major consultancy
- Direct Project Management Office (PMO) experience, including project status tracking, reporting, and RAID management
- Experience planning and managing E2E project plans
- Experience supporting change request processes
- Strong Microsoft Office application skills, particularly:
- Advanced PowerPoint skills
- Expertise in Excel, including Pivot tables
- Strong data analysis skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong organisational ability and attention to detail
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience in relevant domains, including:
- Margin – Collateral Management/clearing
- Post Trade – Custody, settlements, regulatory reporting
- Treasury – Inventory, liquidity, capital management
- Risk – Market risk, XVA, Credit risk, operational risk
- Legal – Client onboarding
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree, 2:1 (or equivalent)
