Do you have payroll experience or are looking to start a new career in Payroll, and can commute to Barnet? Cartwrights are looking for a Full-time or Part-time (3-4 days a week) Payroll Assistant in Barnet. The role comes with an attractive salary of up to £25,000 pa pro rata (dependant on experience) and benefits package. We have a flexible working policy that means, once you have the relevant training, you could work from home up to 3 days per week.

In your first few weeks in this Payroll Assistant role, you can expect to:

• Prepare and submit payrolls at varied frequencies and sizes, from start to finish
• Manage pensions auto-enrolment administration, including submission to pension providers etc.
• Calculate statutory payments, apprenticeship Levy, Employment Allowance, NMW etc.
• Answer payroll queries

No previous payroll knowledge is necessarily required or expected but the successful candidate would have the following attributes:

• Excellent communication skills
• Good numeracy skills
• Excellent IT skills
• Strong academic record with at least a B in GCSE Mathematics and English

• Opportunity to WFH 1 day a week initially assuming no prior experience; this would increase up to 3 days a week once the experience has been gained.
• Core office hours of 10am – 4pm and work a 7.5 hour day but the start / finish time is flexible as long as the core hours are worked.
• Potential to work longer hours Monday to Thursday and reduced hours Friday if desired and workload allows.
