Trainee Careers Adviser/Work Experience Coordinator
A great opportunity to join our client’s team with career progression to become a qualified Careers Adviser.
Hours: Full Time (37 hrs per week; Mon - Fri)
Location: Northwich
Benefits: Company pension, free onsite parking, professional training
Salary: Once qualified as a Careers Adviser the scale is £24,750-£29,000
Personal Qualities required:

- Proactive and a self-starter.
- Friendly, approachable and able to relate well to a wide range of people.
Key Skills required:
- Self-motivated and able to use initiative.
- Excellent IT, phone and communication skills.
- Well organised and able to structure work effectively.
- Strong written and verbal skills and used to report writing.
- Strong team player.
Experience and Qualifications required:
- A good general education including GCSEs at C/Grade 4 or above in Mathematics and English (essential)
- A Level 3 or above qualification (essential) or Level 4 (desirable)
- At least 2 years’ experience in administration and customer service and/or working in the education sector (essential)
- Some experience of working with young people (desirable)
- Full clean driving licence (essential)
Key Accountabilities:
- Undertake professional training (Level 6 Careers Guidance Professional qualification) to become a qualified Careers Adviser delivering impartial guidance in a range of education settings.
- Start to deliver careers guidance in schools after 6-9 months in the role.
- Coordinate work experience programmes with a range of schools/colleges.
- Undertake employer engagement activities with businesses to provide work experience placements for students.
- Liaise closely with Health and Safety Assessors to ensure all placements are safe and suitable.
