Job Description
We are looking for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an Electrical Bias to join the established team at our clients busy manufacturing site that is based in Maldon, Essex.
You will play a crucial role within the business ensuring the smooth operation of not only the machinery on site but also the facilities and fabric of the building.
You will be responsible the planned maintenance of some cutting edge machinery, troubleshooting equipment issues, and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability through continuous improvements.

Key Responsibilities for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer
- Proven experience in maintenance and repair work within a manufacturing environment
- Strong electrical bias with excellent troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Perform preventive maintenance activities on machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and resolve technical issues to minimize production interruptions.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify and address underlying problems, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with the team to optimize equipment settings and processes for maximum efficiency and quality.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing enhancements to machinery and systems.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records through full use of the CMMS System, including work orders, equipment manuals, and spare parts inventory.
- Adhere to health and safety protocols and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Apprentice Trained Maintenance Engineer
- HNC /ONC or equivalent Electrical / Mechanical engineering certification
- Solid understanding and experience of PLC faulting (Siemens)
- Work proactively managing time effectively.
- Carry out work to high standards
- Pneumatic and Hydraulic experience
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Experience with Lathes, milling machinery would be an advantage.
- Basic computer skills.
