Leisure Assistant (2 Posts)

1 x 9 hours per week, Seasonal (1 April - 31 October)
1 x 20 hours per week, Seasonal (1 November – 31 March)

£28,822 - £29,162 pro rata / £14.94 - £15.12 per hour (including Shift Allowance and Distant Islands Allowance)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for the role of Leisure Assistant at the Dounby Centre. Applications are welcomed from those wishing to apply for one or both of the posts above.

Leisure Assistants are required to assist in carrying out the operational procedures of the Dounby Centre.

You should have experience in dealing with the public, and excellent customer care skills are essential. You will be required to ensure an excellent standard of cleanliness, and an awareness of Health and Safety requirements is essential. Other essential qualities include an ability to work both as part of a team and on own initiative.

The successful candidate will be expected to have a flexible approach to working hours.

You should have a good general standard of education including literacy and numeracy and an HSE First Aid qualification would be an advantage.

This post is subject to Basic Disclosure Scotland clearance.

Applicants should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
