Job Title: Temporary SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Morden
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 11 student with severe speech, language, and communication needs and a student with Epilepsy. The ideal candidate will work closely with the students to facilitate their learning and communication in a mainstream school setting.
Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one support to the student during lessons and activities. - Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
Employ communication aids and techniques to enhance the student’s learning experience.
Collaborate with teachers, speech therapists, and other professionals to support the student’s educational and social development.
Monitor and record the student’s progress and report to relevant staff members.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with speech, language, and communication needs.
- Knowledge of communication aids and techniques.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with special educational needs.
- Relevant qualifications or training in special education (preferred but not essential).
