Job Description
This is a fixed term contract for 5 months for an outstanding Credit Controller looking to join a friendly and busy Credit Control team. We'd like you to have significant Credit Control experience to enable you to support the team and their work from day one.
Key to the role of the Credit Controller is supporting our publicans by ensuring a flow of beer to our pubs whilst maximising cash collection and minimising credit risk to the business. Relationship building is key with all internal and external stakeholders/customers, whilst also playing a key part in the delivery of the departmental objectives
Daily tasks will include:
Managing credit problems of both a short-term and long-term nature. The Credit Controller should support all publicans, but be assertive when appropriate
Controlling bad debts by ensuring that the company does not take undue financial risks or non-commercial decisions, ensuring that potential debts are addressed quickly, by applying the Company values and appropriate actions taken to recover arrears, prior to publicans leaving their pubs
Maintaining supplies to our pubs within agreed and documented procedures
Regularly reviewing accounts on refer, credit limits and allocate cash
There must be regular telephone discussions with the publican and the RM responsible and use the escalation process where applicable
Agreed actions must be documented in writing, which must include notes on the account.
Promoting the use of the direct debit method of payment and processing of other payment methods.

Excellent communication skills, including a clear and concise telephone manner
Ability to show empathy and well-developed listening skills
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to influence at all levels
A positive approach and drive to deliver excellent customer service
Excellent negotiator
Knowledge of Navision preferred

The Solihull Pub Support Team offices are light and airy offices in Shirley, Solihull, where you will be greeted by our Welcome Team. We have free onsite secure parking with EV charging and cycle storage, a subsidised canteen serving breakfast and lunch, as well as an onsite pub used for social events. The offices are fully accessible.
