Job Description
Job Title: Production Engineer
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + paid overtime
Location: Sunderland

As a Production Engineer you will be responsible for all new model introductions, automation projects, current equipment modifications, technical improvements and assisting the production and maintenance departments in complicated breakdowns.
Skills & Experience of a Production Engineer:
* Level 4 in electrical engineering or with an electrical bias.
* 5+ year’s experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, ideally Automotive.
* Extensive experience of Robotics (Fanuc) and PLC programming (Omron) or similar.
* Knowledge of the APQP quality process.
* Good knowledge of resistance welding processes would be beneficial.
Job Description of a Production Engineer:
* Provide immediate technical support for the maintenance and production departments.
* Proactively work to reduce machine downtime and improve machine efficiency.
* Assist with modifications to current equipment to achieve company OEE targets and KPI’s.
* Research new technology, designing and implementing cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety, reliability and machine automation.
* Work extensively on new model introductions including equipment specification, process design and new model equipment installations.
* Extensive PLC and robot software programming when required for machine modification and improvement.
* Planning and executing capital projects, providing the required technical and installation support to deliver those projects on time and on budget.
* Managing onsite contractors safely and effectively
