The Role
Working within the head office Visual Merchandising team, the Window Design Manager is responsible for the creative direction and design development of all window schemes, ensuring the timely delivery of all elements whilst remaining within budget.
The Window Design Manager understands the requirements of our stores and customers to develop windows that support product and seasonal storytelling.

What youll be doing
  • Create innovative, commercial window display solutions of all product categories across The White Company.
  • Partnering with Marketing & Brand on the Window response to brief to ensure design progress reflects the seasonal direction.
  • Delivering directional window expertise to the business through new materials, design trends and craftsmanship techniques. Prototyping to demonstrate and develop innovation.
  • Present concepts and designs to the directors, seeking solutions to amendments whilst retaining a consistent brand image.
  • Support the Window communications & creative co-ordinator post sign off - managing the process of scheme production and ordering, ensuring that it runs to schedule and is delivered within budget and the creation of window communication.
  • Manage the budgets on window displays, where possible assist with the procurement of schemes and props by tendering to suppliers.
  • Working with the Area VM Managers to ensure that guidelines are working effectively and that there is consistency in the way that the windows are represented across the stores.
  • Supporting and delivering the in-store presentation of each Model Store. Working with the VM team to deliver a completed store presentation at the beginning of each season to the highest standards.
  • Planning new store opening windows and any additional guidance and advice on layouts required as the stores open including support with the installation itself.
  • Supporting the Head of Visual Merchandising with ad hoc projects, including press events, B2B and company events.
  • Manage and supporting the Window communication & creative Co-ordinator in their personal development.
  • Undertake seasonal store visits, monitor competitor activity and report back in team and departmental meetings.


What skills & experience youll need
  • A minimum of 5 years experience of window design, in a similar Head Office Role with a comparable retail brand in both size and market position.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written including PC skills such as Microsoft Word and Excel, InDesign, SketchUp and Photoshop.
  • Ability to work well independently, under pressure and to tight deadlines. Can respond positively to changing priorities.
  • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and drive them for continuous improvement.
  • Must be highly organised, with strong written and verbal skills and take responsibility for own workload.
  • Knowledge of competition and industry trends.
