Regional Account Manager
Territory - UK South-East

Our client is currently seeking a hard-working and independent self-starter with a consultative approach to sales to join their National Sales team.

The Regional Account Manager plays a key role in the success of our clients organization by managing all customer accounts within a defined territory. This role is responsible for facilitating all sales opportunities through customer interactions and ensuring accurate and timely book and record keeping. Additionally, the Regional Account Manager will contribute to sales growth through new customer acquisition, customer retention, and identifying growth opportunities with the current customer base.

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the role will require close collaboration with various internal teams, including sales coordinators, customer service, marketing, and product management.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • The position operates remotely from a home-based office with travel to customer appointments as required. Expected travel is 75% of the working week.
  • Proactively maintain a healthy sales pipeline, accurate calendar management, and provide correct sales forecasts.
  • Plan and implement a 4-week rolling travel plan.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all customers within the territory, maintaining the existing customer base while proactively seeking new customers through in-person sales calls and electronic communication.
  • Maintain knowledge of current products through ongoing education and proactive training, including competitor products and market insights.
  • Work concurrently on campaigns driven by the marketing team, including new product launches and trade show participation.
  • Research and attend regional shows relevant to the territory and the market.
  • Collaborate with the inside sales team, customer service team, logistics & demo team, and management to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure all customer inquiries, whether through prospecting, telephone, website, trade shows, or quotes, are handled in a timely manner.
  • Be comfortable engaging with key accounts within the simulation market, including but not limited to nursing schools, medical schools, hospital-based patient safety officers, clinical education staff, and medical directors.
  • Develop a close working relationship with the Internal Sales Coordinator, customer service team, marketing team, and product management team.
  • Stay informed on market conditions and competitor offerings.
  • Attend conferences, trade fairs, and exhibitions as required.
  • Overnight stays may be necessary to fulfill the duties of this role.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL:

  • A minimum of 2 years account management experience, specifically selling devices within the healthcare sector.
  • Bachelors Degree preferred, or equivalent experience in a sales setting.
  • General office skills, including:
    1. High level of numeracy and e-literacy.
    2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel. Familiarity with Salesforce or another CRM is ideal but not required.
    3. Strong quantitative and qualitative skills.
    4. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
    5. Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and a structured approach.
    6. Strong problem-solving skills with the flexibility to learn and adapt to challenges.
    7. Excellent communication skills and a high level of professionalism.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Physical ability to safely lift and handle products up to 40 lb.
  • Ability to manage demo stock and move products between locations.

DESIRABLE:

  • A nursing, medical, or life sciences qualification.
  • Experience within the medical simulation sector.
  • Experience with CRMs.
