Our client is a rapidly expanding private equity group business with ambitious growth plans. The organisation benefits from experienced Directors within their field, which creates a unique culture within the business. We are assisting with the appointment of a talented Financial Controller to join their head office Finance team based in Carlisle.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for leading the group's financial reporting, management accounting and regulatory & compliance obligations, developing and maintaining the accounting control processes and helping develop the ERP system for the group. This position offers a balance between traditional financial responsibilities and working with the Chief Executive and Chief Financial Officer to develop new reporting, commercial KPIs, systems and processes for a fast-growing business.
Your new role
This job role will evolve with the rapid growth of the business, making this the perfect time to join and grow alongside the company. The role will be well-supported by the CO and CFO, and main responsibilities will include:

Preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and reports for the Board and Senior Management team, with variance analysis and insight into performance and future impact.
Quarterly preparation of Bank Reporting.
Review and guidance to the finance team during the month-end process and review of key reconciliations and processes performed by the team.
Responsibility for delivering the year-end audit process.
Working with tax advisors and auditors.
Responsibility for ensuring the Group's VAT returns and any other statutory returns required of the group as necessary
Cashflow management, working alongside the CFO in management of the Group's short and long term working capital processes.
Direct management of 2 x Management Accountants and 1 x Accounts Payable Assistant.
Contribute to future projects including the scoping and delivery of a new ERP/Finance system within the next 12 months.What you'll need to succeed

ACA or ACCA qualification with 5+ years post-qualification experience.
Experience implementing an ERP system (desirable).
Up-to-date knowledge of technical accounting.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
IT literate with strong Microsoft Excel skills and willingness to develop these skills further.
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.What you'll get in return

Salary dependent on experience and/or qualifications
Full-time permanent role, 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 9 - 5pm, option to work 1 day per week from home25 days annual leave + bank holidays
