Human Services Counselor (3013) 2 positions

JOB SUMMARY: As a member of an interdisciplinary team, the incumbent offers group sessions, support, coaching and / or skill training to clients referred by the clinician to facilitate their recovery. He or she works in collaboration with the involved professionals, people who lived through experience as well as other significant services and people involved. Needs are focused on recovery and may vary according to operational needs. He or she may also be asked to contribute to the other services within the Center . REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) and additional six-month to one-year course/program in community integration or the equivalent – child/youth services option or any equivalent Successfully complete the O.M.E.G.A. course or a commitment to undertake such a course, or any other non-violet crisis intervention course; Successfully complete the Advanced C.P.I. course or a commitment to undertake such a course; Successfully complete the Prevention and Management of Suicidal Behaviour in a Psychiatric Hospital Setting course or a commitment to undertake such a course; Current BLS Certification; Good judgement and organisational skills; Ability to utilize a variety of intervention techniques in new and innovative ways; Must possess a valid license in accordance with the requirements of the New Brunswick Motor Vehicle Act. Ability to work independently and as a team member; Physical ability to perform assigned duties; Good previous work history (performance and attendance); Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values; Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
