Job Description
Mechanical Project Engineer (HVAC & Plumbing)
Red Rock Consultants are currently working with a reputable Mechanical Contractor based in the West Midlands who specialise in Air Conditioning and ventilation systems for retail, commercial, industrial, and leisure premises.
Due to client expansion and recent success in securing new mechanical projects, they are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join their dynamic team.
Main Responsibilities:
* Manage the installation of HVAC and Mechanical Projects across the UK and Ireland.
* Attend client site meetings and report on progress.
* Conduct surveys, assist with bid proposals, and engage in contract negotiations.
* Attend pre-start meetings and follow up with reports during the contract.
* Plan and manage both subcontract and direct labour resources.
* Purchase materials and ensure timely delivery.
* Keep both clients and internal teams updated on project matters.
* Prepare Risk Assessments & Method Statements (RAMS).
* Create Operation & Maintenance Manuals.
* Ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and snag-free.
* Manage contract variations.
* Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ranging in value from £20k to £1m.
* React proactively and swiftly to challenges on and off-site.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in air conditioning, with knowledge of relevant legislation and market suppliers/equipment.
* Ability to manage full project lifecycles from inception to completion, including labour and material management.
* ONC/HNC qualification in Building Services (HVAC) is preferred.
* Must hold a valid CSCS Card.
* Proficiency in working from CAD drawings.
