Hydraflow also provides general engineering services in maintenance, repair and overhaul into multiple industry sectors including; Steel, Marine, Aggregates, Waste Management & Recycling, Heavy Plant & Machinery, Paper and Packaging and Food & Beverage.

Job Purpose / Summary

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Process Engineerto support both our Newport and Gloucester facilities. This role will focus on developing and implementing process documentation for the repair, refurbishment & re-manufacture of a wide variety ofproducts from our diverse client base.

The successful candidate will also be required to develop and maintain a range of accurate, effective and efficient quotation tools to improve costing, lead time estimation, and overall operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure company H&S policies and procedures are followed at all times to ensure the safety of yourself and your colleagues, including the wearing of appropriate PPE and maintaining a clean and tidy workspace.

  • Responsible for developing and implementing Costing & Quotationtools for accurately calculating repair, refurbishment and re-manufacturing costs (materials & labour) and the associated lead times to improve customer service and transactional (margin) efficiency.
  • Responsible for assessingcurrent suppliers and subcontractors and for identifying, recommending, and managing the transition to, alternative options to establish a stable, reliable and effective supply chain thereby reducing business risks.
  • Working with the GM and Workshop Managers, implement actions to improve Health and Safety standards, ensuring alignment with regulations and best practices.
  • Working with the GM and Workshop Managers, assist with the development and documentation of generic repair processes, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Working with the GM and the Workshop Managers, identify and implement measures to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency, increasing labour utilization and improving profit margins at both facilities.

Skills & Experience:

Essential:

  • Proven Process Engineering experience, specifically in the creation and maintenance of process documentation, preferably within a service or maintenance industry sector,
  • Previous experience in the creation and development of tools and techniques for accurately costing repairs, refurbishments and re-manufacturing projects, including sub-contract processes; and in the development of lead time management and production efficiency techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify inefficiencies and propose actionable solutions.
  • Able to work effectively at both facilities ensuring consistent communication and collaboration with Workshop Managers, Technicians, and cross-functional teams.

Desirable

Time-served, apprentice trained, ideally qualified to HNC level in a Manufacturing Engineering and / or Operations discipline.

  • Previous work experience in a Service and Repair organisation and familiarity with equipment used across a variety of industry sectors: Steel, Waste & recycling, Aggregates, Paper & Packaging, Food & Beverage, Marine, Heavy (Construction) plant / Lifting equipment.
