Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly competent and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our logistics team on an ad hoc basis. This role involves transporting high-value products across various locations, often requiring weekend work. Candidates must be capable of handling double-decker trailers and demonstrate a commitment to safety and compliance with all transportation laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, specifically double-deckers, ensuring safe and timely delivery of high-value products.
• Perform pre and post-trip vehicle checks to ensure the vehicle is in good operating condition.
• Comply with all legal and company regulations regarding secure loading, transporting, and unloading of goods.
• Maintain accurate records of delivery documentation and other necessary paperwork.
• Navigate routes efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations teams to report any issues or delays.
• Ensure customer satisfaction through professional conduct at all delivery points.

Requirements:

• Valid HGV Class 1 driving license.
• CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence).
• Digital Tacho Card.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
• Proven experience in handling high-value products.
• Experience driving double-decker trailers.
• Excellent understanding of road transport regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
• Strong time management and punctuality.
• Effective communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in logistics or transportation of fragile or high-value items.
• ADR certification for transportation of hazardous goods (not essential).

Employment Type:

• Ad Hoc, depending on business needs.

• Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience.
