Accountabilities:

Reporting to the MEWP Manager, the MEWP Coordinator is responsible for the management, coordination, and safe operation of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) within the organisation. This role ensures that all MEWPs are operated efficiently and in compliance with safety regulations and standards. The MEWP Coordinator will work closely with various departments to support operational needs, provide training, and promote a culture of safety and compliance.

1. MEWP Management:

o Oversee the inventory, maintenance, and operational readiness of all MEWPs.

o Ensure all MEWPs are compliant with industry safety standards and regulations. o Coordinate regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs of MEWPs.

o Maintain accurate records of MEWP usage, maintenance, and inspections.


2. Operational Coordination:

o Coordinate the allocation and scheduling of MEWPs to meet project and operational requirements.

o Collaborate with Building Managers and site supervisors to plan and execute MEWP usage. o Ensure MEWP operators are certified and competent to operate the equipment.

o Monitor and report on MEWP performance and utilisation.


3. Safety and Compliance:

o Develop and implement safety protocols and operating procedures for MEWPs.

o Conduct safety audits and risk assessments for MEWP operations. o Provide training and safety briefings to MEWP operators and relevant staff.

o Stay informed of changes in safety regulations and best practices related to MEWPs.


4. Training and Development:

o Develop and deliver training programs for MEWP operators.

o Ensure all operators have up-to-date certifications and training. o Promote a culture of continuous improvement and safety awareness.



Key Deliverables: • Weekly Report

• Monthly asset requirement forecasting

• Weekly servicing / calibration reports

• Overdue service / calibration reports

• Operators Training Reports

• Lost or Damaged equipment reports

• Opportunity development reports


Minimum Qualifications/ Experience

(in line with MEH Onboarding matrix)


• Technical Expertise:

o In-depth knowledge of MEWP operation, maintenance, and safety standards. o Familiarity with industry regulations and best practices for MEWP usage.


• Leadership and Coordination:

o Strong coordination and organisational skills. o Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.

o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Safety and Compliance Focus:

o Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements. o Experience conducting safety audits and risk assessments.

o Ability to develop and implement effective safety protocols.


• Training and Development:

o Experience in developing and delivering training programs. o Ability to assess and enhance operator competency and performance.


• Education:

o High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical training or certifications related to MEWPs is preferred.


• Experience:

o Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in MEWP operation, maintenance, or coordination. o Proven track record of managing MEWP operations and ensuring safety compliance.

o Experience in a construction, industrial, or similar environment is preferred.


• Certifications:

o Relevant certifications in MEWP operation and safety (e.g., IPAF, OSHA) are required.

o Additional certifications in safety management or maintenance are a plus.
